Installing WordPress is an extremely simple process. The first thing to do is, after you have chosen and purchased your domain, you must enter the respective control panel. To do this, simply type the name of your website and then type cpanel.
Example: httos://yourwebsitename.com/cpanel
After that, a page will appear that will ask for your access data, usually the email you used to register and the password.
When you access it, just scroll down the page and you will find the WordPress option. Click install and wait a bit, it usually takes no more than 2 minutes.
After the installation is complete, you can start building your website. To do this, simply write your domain followed by the term “wp-admin”.
Example: httos://yourwebsitename.com/wp-admin.
Dashboard

The dashboard is very intuitive and the left sidebar is organized with all the necessary information. In this topic, we will address which are the most important and what they do.
- Posts – this is where all your blog posts are;
- Media – this is where you can consult the multimedia files that are present on your website, such as images, music, and videos. You can also add, delete, and manage these files;
- Pages – it is important not to confuse it with the previous one, pages are independent, while posts are publications within pages;
- Comments – this is where all comments to your posts will appear. It is important to manage comments to be able to respond to your readers and eliminate spam;
- Appearance – this is where the options to customize your website are, things like colors, templates, themes, widgets, background options, and everything that has to do with the visual aspect of the page;
- Plugins – section where your plugins are, here you will be able to install, uninstall, and manage all the plugins you want;
- Users – here are the users who manage the website, roles, and authorizations for each one;
- Tools – is the space dedicated to the site’s own import and export options, you can also diagnose and export or delete personal information;
- Settings – a more technical area dedicated to the internal management of WordPress.
Themes
With the huge variety of thousands of themes available, it can seem almost impossible to choose the best one. This choice is often not made the first time and sometimes it is necessary to make several attempts to reach the best solution.
Still, I will try to give some tips that can help when choosing:
- Taking into account the specific characteristics of your business, the template should be coherent. It’s a good idea to have an idea of the type of audience you’re trying to reach and how they can better relate to the general theme of the site.
- The aesthetics must be coherent and attractive to the reader. Avoid using bright colors, high contrasts, and titles with huge font sizes as these will only give your business a bad appearance.
- A technical aspect, which is therefore often forgotten, is the response speed of your page. An extremely well-made, appealing, and beautiful page is of little use if it then takes 1 minute to load. It has to be as efficient and fast as possible and this is so important that Google itself analyzes it and gives, or takes away, points according to speed. To find out if you are being efficient, just go to a Google tool called “Page Speed Insights” and you will have all the necessary information.
- Finally, we must not forget to check if the page has any programming errors. Indeed, WordPress does not require you to know in this regard, but sometimes there are compatibility problems between the layout and some multimedia resources. To find out if everything is in order, just go to the website “https://achecker.achecks.ca/checker/index.php.”, put the link to your page and it will do this analysis for you.
- Last recommendation…don’t search for themes or layouts, it simply isn’t worth it because the variety of themes that WordPress has for free will certainly answer everything you need.
Once you have chosen a theme, simply select it to install, wait less than 1 minute, and everything will be ready. Please note that if you change the theme after you have already posted some content, you will probably have to make some adjustments to ensure that everything is in its right place.
Pages

This process is extremely easy thanks to the Dashboard side menu, just click on the Pages option and then create a new one. Once you do this, a page will appear where you will have to enter the page title and its content below.
On your right side, there will be a sidebar with several options for customizing your page, namely questions such as keywords, cover image, privacy, type of page, and time to be published, among many other options.
Custom Menu

Thanks to this option, it is possible to create a personalized menu for your own website, thus guiding your readers to what suits them best.
To do this, simply go to your left sidebar, choose the Appearance option, select Menus, and then follow the necessary steps.
Over the next few days, we will talk a little more about creating a WordPress page, how to do it, tips, help, and much more. Are there any questions I can help you with? Comment below.
